Finely chopped cucumber1
Oil1 tsp
Mustard seeds1 tsp
Salt1/2 tsp or to taste
Asafetidapinch

Raita’s are yogurt based sauces that are used as an accompaniment in Indian food. Raita helps to cool down the spice and gives a new flavor to the whole meal.

Method:

  1. Take 2 cups of plain yogurt.
  2. Add the chopped cucumbers, salt and mix well.
  3. Heat a pan with 1 tsp of oil and add 1 tsp of mustard seeds. Once the seeds starts to crackle turn the stove off and sprinkle some asafetida.
  4. Pour the seasoning over the yogurt and mix well
  5. Garnish with some chopped cilantro and serve chilled.
