Chole is my family’s favourite comfort food. My kids love it too. It is simple and quick to make. Chole is also called garbanzo beans or chickpeas. Gravy is onion & tomatoes with spices.
Method:
- Drain the water and rinse the chickpeas nicely in cold water.
- Heat some oil and saute garlic, ginger, onions add some salt & asafetida , after the onion is cooked add the tomatoes, turmeric powder & garam masala and cook until tomatoes get soft.
- Let the gravy cool down and put it in a blender and make a puree.
- Cook the gravy for a 5 minutes and then add the chickpeas and bring it to a boil
- Garnish with cilantro.
